Beach House grounds western car park extension and improvement scheme

The extension and improvement works to the car park are progressing well. However, due to unforeseen circumstance and an increase in the extent of the works the full extent of the car park will not be opened until the end of April 2012.
Currently there is a small section of car park open for use, which will be increased to the majority of the completed sections of car park on the 5th April 2012.
The Beach House grounds western car park extension and improvement scheme is due to start on site during the week commencing 16th January 2012 and will run for approximately eleven weeks. The site plan details the changes being made to the current site and car parking:

The scheme will be carried out in two phases:
- Phase One
Extension of the western section of car park southwards in the area of the tennis courts, including widening the existing car park on the eastern side and altering the existing car park exit/entrance. - Phase Two
Extension of the eastern section of car park southwards and boundary walling to the north.
A proportion of the existing car park will remain open during the course of the works.
As part of the planning permission an Archaeological 'watching brief' is required on the undisturbed grassed areas, this may affect the duration of the scheme if artefacts are found.
The contractor undertaking the works is Landbuild Ltd.
